We want you to enjoy this amazing experience and not feel rushed, so our minimum rental period is (up to) 2 hours from when you launch, which is plenty of time to paddle to the end of the river and out into the bay. The rental fee also gives you access to our private deck and all the amenities.
-
Life Jackets are included with your rental fee. We ask that all larger groups of paddlers and children wear them. That said, if you are a good swimmer, in good health, and use the provided leash, a life jacket is optional. If in doubt, please wear one.
-
The less the better, plan on getting wet- wear swimwear, sun protection, floating hats. Leave valuables in your car. You can also rent a personal locker for $2.
You can leave your footwear on our deck by the launch area. If you plan to take a cell phone or camera, we recommend using a magnetic seal waterproof floating bag, available to purchase in the shop. Glasses come off easily if you fall in and will sink to the bottom if not secured. Use a tether or croakies if you have to wear glasses.
-
The guided tour takes 90 minutes though you should allow for extra time to sign in and to shower and change afterwards. We also offer guided tours for groups up to 20 people and can arrange a catered meal on our private deck and/or team building experience for groups, please contact us if interested: blueplanetadventureco@gmail.com

Yes, two people (or pet) can share a rental paddleboard but be aware that it can be much more tippy and challenging with two people or with large dog. The maximum rider weight for our biggest rental SUP’s is around 350 pounds, so as long as the total weight (of both paddlers) is under 350 pounds, you are welcome to give it a go.

This is our official cancellation policy that is displayed when you book your rental:
Customers will receive a full refund or credit with 48 hours notice of cancellation. Customers will also receive a full refund or credit in case of operator cancellation due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. We will do our best to re-schedule bookings with less than 48 hours but more than 2 hour notice. Contact us by email at blueplanetadventureco@gmail.com to change or inquire about a cancellation of your reservation – if you would like to do this yourself and you are outside the 48-hour window, you can head over to your confirmation email to manage your cancellation or rebooking. No-shows will be charged the full price and are generally not eligible for a refund. If we have to close due to unsafe conditions, we will issue a full refund.
Normal rain squalls are nothing unusual in Hawaii and since you are going out on the river you should expect to get wet anyway, so normal rainfall is not considered a reason to cancel a booking.
If there is a heavy downpour, lightning, or dangerous wind conditions, we will close the rental deck and issue a full refund or re-schedule any advance bookings.

We recommend making advance bookings for larger groups and during busy periods but we can usually accomodate walk up customers, so advance bookings are not required to paddle with us.
We highly recommend coming before 3 pm so you can enjoy a full 2 hours on the water. Same day rental equipment must be returned before we close at 5 pm.
Traditionally, the busiest times of the year for us are between Christmas and New Year and during Spring Break. The busiest time during the day is usually 11 am to 2 pm, so it’s best to come in early (between 9 am and 10:30 am) or a bit later (between 2-3 pm) if you want to avoid crowds.
-
You can cancel or change your booking by clicking the “change my booking” link in the confirmation email up to 48 hours before your booking (see cancellation policy). With less than 48 hour but at least 2 hour notice, we will re-book if you need to change your booking by calling (808) 888 0786 or email blueplanetadventureco@gmail.com. Don’t worry if you are running late, you don’t need to let us know, we will adjust your start time and you will still be able to enjoy two full hours on the water (if you come before 3 pm, all equipment must be returned before we close at 5 pm).
-
Our launch is on private property and available to paying customers only. For liability reasons we can only allow access to paying customers. There is a public launch on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge, so please launch there if you are bringing your own gear. We do make an exception to this rule if at least some members of your group rent boards or kayaks from us, so if you bring friends or guests who rent from us and all launch together, then yes, you can use our launch with the group using your own equipment, at your own risk.
-
We are open from 9 am to 5 pm every day of the year, except for these Holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s Day, or if the weather conditions do not allow for a safe experience.
You may rent after 3 pm but you will not be able to paddle for a full two hours as all equipment has to be returned before we close at 5 pm, we may charge a late fee of $10 per rental if gear is not returned on time, or charge an additional daily rental fee.
-
We may allow children younger than 8 years old to go on a kayak or paddleboard with their parent or caretaker, at your own risk, if they:
- are able to swim
- are comfortable around water
- wear a life jacket
- you stay upstream of the Rainbow Bridge
-
You can rent our deck for private events with up to 15 people for evening events.
Please check this page for SUP Yoga and Glow down the River tours offered in the morning and afternoon:

The biggest SUP we have is the 11’2 x 40″ x 300L Da Ohana model. This volume can float over 600 lbs but recommended maximum rider weight is 350 lbs.
Our two person kayaks are rated for rider weights of up to 500 lbs (weight of both paddlers combined). If the combined weight of two paddlers exceeds the weight capacity, we recommend one kayak per paddler.
